Jami and Ocmulgee National Park

Indians once roamed this land and can you see the mounts that they built/
the Ocmulgee National Park, is  Indians ruins right in the middle of Macon.
they were preserved by many people, and excavated to see what the Mississippian Indians   civilization looked like.
MOther  and Daugther out on the town look for the Indiams mounds.  It was a great day.
This is the entrance to the largest mound. you walk back in to the center and there is a large room,  recreated for us to see what Indian life was like,
This is the bridge where the train used to go over, some to  the mounds were destroyed because of the rail road.
There is  the largest River in Georgia the Ocmulgee River that the park is named after, the River runs around the park and I am sure that is why the Indiam build the village here so they could have close access to wate
This is a beautiful Park  we wanted for Jamilyn to come to visit it it is amazing that so many things have been saved from the India's
The clouds that day were rain clouds, but  the most beautiful pattern  Developed while we wee walking through the sacred ground of the Creek and Mississippian Indians.

It was Jami Turn to come out of the Indian  house. they said the  mounds were built by hundreds of Indians caring the the dirt in basket up on the mound and dumping it. they  said that there were many different layer of dirt of different color and kinds.
From the top of the highest mound you can see down town Macon.  I could not get to the top because you had to walk up about 50 stairs.
This picture is also from another high mounds look back at  the park buildings. it was a sunny and cloudy day , and Jami arms had not felt sun for four months while  she was in St Peter burg Russian  because of the cold and wind.
This is the Ocmugee River that runs along side the Park. there are walking trails. and swamps, and some people say they have seen alligators.
This was the  rail road that goes though the park any priceless antiques were stolen and destroyed by the rail road people
